Arbitration and Mediation

Also called “Alternative Dispute Resolution” or “ADR”, Arbitration and Mediation proceedings are alternative methods to attempt to resolve a legal dispute. Arbitration generally is a process selected by parties in a contract in which the parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of an arbitrator or panel of arbitrators with the decision being binding and final as if obtained in a court of law. In mediation, the parties to a dispute agree to meet with a mutually chosen mediator, present their side of the case, and consider the recommendations of the mediator in an effort to settle the matter in a non-binding setting.   In either type of proceeding, the principal benefits are a quick and more cost-effective avenue to resolve a legal dispute. Some of the areas we have conducted these proceedings include:

  • CreditorsRights in Bankruptcy
  • Breach of Contract Issues
  • Breach of Contract Claims
  • Construction Litigation
  • E-Commerce Issues
